en.Wedoany.com Reported - A construction consortium led by Spie batignolles has secured a contract for the construction of a deep-water terminal at the Port of Dunkirk in France, valued at €132 million (excluding tax). The project is managed by Ingérop/Setec International, with consortium members including Spie batignolles fondations (lead), Spie batignolles nord, ETPO, Spie batignolles travaux publics, Ramery TP, and Fayat fondations. It is expected to be operational by 2029.

As part of the CAP 2020 project, the new deep-water terminal, measuring 1,150 meters in length, will extend the Atlantic basin, enabling the Port of Dunkirk to build a second container terminal capable of accommodating two additional ultra-large container ships (ULCS).

The scope of work covers multiple aspects: construction of site facilities; dewatering of the entire yard during construction; installation of 70-meter-long temporary steel sheet pile supports stabilized with drilled anchors; construction of a 1,320-linear-meter quay (including a 1,150-meter deep-water section and a 170-meter connection section) using diaphragm walls with metal pile curtains; stabilization of the yard in the southern connection section using stone columns; pouring of capping beams (totaling 1,320 meters, requiring approximately 20,000 cubic meters of concrete); excavation of the foundation pit in multiple benches for diaphragm walls and their anchoring; backfilling as civil works progress; drainage works for the future port platform; and construction of the subgrade and municipal networks for the 26-meter-wide quay apron area.
