en.Wedoany.com Reported - Indian steel manufacturer JSW Steel plans to invest over $500 million to modernize its plants in Mingo Junction, Ohio, and Baytown, Texas. The company views the Trump administration's policies as a favorable factor for this investment.

In the Ohio project, JSW Steel has invested $165 million to introduce vacuum degassing equipment and an advanced slab caster. These facilities can produce steel billets up to 12 inches thick, enabling JSW USA to complete production domestically without importing slabs from Brazil or other countries, thereby exclusively supplying American-made steel.

Meanwhile, the plate and pipe rolling mill in Baytown, Texas, is undergoing a $110 million upgrade, scheduled to commence production on October 1, 2026. U.S. Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, highly praised the investment, stating that it helps strengthen U.S. manufacturing capabilities.
