en.Wedoany.com Reported - The relocation plan for the historic British trawler Arctic Corsair achieved two milestones this spring. The vessel will become the centerpiece of Hull's Maritime Heritage Trail.

In April, the fleet successfully completed a trial run of the planned relocation route using a Deans Marine tugboat and a barge similar in size and shape to the Arctic Corsair. The route extends along the Humber Estuary and the River Hull, with the final destination being the North End Shipyard. The official relocation is scheduled for later this year.
In June, the Arctic Corsair entered dry dock for the last time, undergoing final restoration finishing work by Dunstons Ship Repairs before the major move.
The Spencer Group has commenced dredging operations to provide a safe navigation channel and access for the upcoming lock replacement. The operation involves removing approximately 3,500 square meters of silt from the River Hull, employing an advanced water treatment system to ensure the water is effectively treated before being returned to the river.
The restoration of the Arctic Corsair is part of the Hull Maritime project. Initiated by Hull City Council and supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project aims to create an immersive, educational new maritime heritage trail featuring the Spurn Lightship, the Arctic Corsair, the North End Shipyard, and the Maritime Museum.
