en.Wedoany.com Reported - Chinese company UBTECH has unveiled the UWORLD U1 humanoid robot, claiming it is the first mass-produced full-size ultra-realistic product. The robot is available in three versions and has already received over 13,000 orders, marking UBTECH's official entry into the consumer robotics market.

Previously known for its industrial robots, UBTECH now aims to expand its technology into home scenarios. The company believes that humanoid robots will no longer be limited to performing dangerous or repetitive tasks in the future, but will also take on roles such as companionship, emotional support, and daily assistance.

The UWORLD U1 is designed to closely resemble humans in appearance, featuring artificial skin, 88 degrees of freedom, and a bionic cervical spine structure that can replicate approximately 90% of basic human movements. The artificial intelligence system has also been optimized to make interactions more natural. According to UBTECH, the robot can recognize over 20 emotional states with an accuracy exceeding 90%, respond within about half a second, and maintain long-term memory of conversations and events, gradually adjusting its behavior to suit the user.

A particularly unique feature will be applied to a psychological support program announced by UBTECH. The company plans to donate 100 customized robots to children in difficult family environments, elderly people living alone, and other vulnerable groups. These devices will use 3D facial reconstruction and voice replication technology to reproduce the appearance and voice characteristics of individuals selected by the beneficiaries, combined with a long-term memory system and emotional interaction model. UBTECH believes this initiative can help combat loneliness—a growing social issue in China, with an estimated over 90 million adults living alone and 118 million elderly people lacking family companionship. However, the practice of creating robots with the appearance and voice of relatives and friends has also sparked ethical discussions.

In addition to personal companionship, the UWORLD U1 is also designed for use in various fields such as hotels, reception, tourism, elderly care, scientific research, education, and high-end home services.
