en.Wedoany.com Reported - GE Vernova has secured an order from Vietnam Electricity (EVN) to supply two 9HA.02 gas turbines and two H78 generators for the Quang Trach II LNG power plant in the Hon La Economic Zone, Quang Tri Province.

Developed by EVN, the plant is expected to have an installed capacity of over 1.6 GW and is scheduled to commence commercial operation before 2030. The project will be built under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) consortium model, with members including China's Power Construction Corporation of China and LILAMA Corporation.

The plant will use imported liquefied natural gas (LNG), which will be regasified and burned in a combined-cycle configuration to achieve higher efficiency and more flexible power generation. GE Vernova stated that this order is based on its long-term partnership with EVN and extensive business presence in Vietnam, having supported the country's power system since the early 1990s.

GE Vernova revealed that its HA gas turbine fleet has accumulated over 4 million hours of commercial operation globally. The 9HA.02 gas turbine is one of the company's most advanced and efficient gas turbine technologies, designed to provide flexible, dispatchable power generation to complement the growing share of renewable energy in the grid.
