en.Wedoany.com Reported - Tesla has launched the Model Y L long-wheelbase six-seat crossover in the US, positioned above the standard model and targeting families needing more space and a third row. The vehicle first debuted in China in August 2025, with the US version rolling off the assembly line at the Texas Gigafactory, featuring the same design language as the standard Model Y.

The Model Y L has a wheelbase of 119.7 inches (3040 mm), 5.9 inches (150 mm) longer than the standard model, with an overall length increase of 6.9 inches (175 mm) to 195.6 inches (4968 mm).
Additionally, the roof height has increased by 1.7 inches (43 mm) to 65.7 inches (1669 mm), freeing up headroom. Maximum cargo space reaches 89 cubic feet (2520 liters), a full 15 cubic feet (425 liters) more than the standard Model Y.

In addition to redesigned sheet metal, a larger tailgate, a more prominent rear spoiler, and larger windows, Tesla has added a new Cosmic Silver paint option. Currently, the Model Y L is only available in the AWD Premium Launch Series, featuring 19-inch or 20-inch alloy wheels with staggered tires, adaptive damping, and retuned suspension.

Features include a 16-inch central display, an 8-inch rear touchscreen, and a 19-speaker audio system. The first two rows of seats offer heating and ventilation, while the third-row seats are heated with power tilt. The limited-edition Launch Series also includes welcome lights, a suede dashboard trim, floor mats, branded sill plates, and special badges.
In terms of safety, side curtain airbags designed for third-row passengers have been added, along with Full Self-Driving (Supervised), blind spot monitoring, a front-facing camera, and integrated Grok AI.

The dual-motor all-wheel-drive Model Y L Premium has an estimated range of 325 miles (523 km), just 2 miles (3 km) less than the equivalent Model Y Premium. Connected to a 250 kW fast charger, it can add 164 miles (264 km) of range in 15 minutes. The 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) acceleration time is 4.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the short-wheelbase model.
The Model Y L Premium Launch Series is priced at $61,990, $12,000 more than the all-wheel-drive Model Y Premium and $4,000 more than the Model Y Performance. The vehicle is already available in China, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Puerto Rico, with the UAE being the next market to introduce it.
