Sinomine Resource Group Launches 4-Kilometer Road Rehabilitation Project in Zimbabwe

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 7, Bikita Minerals, a subsidiary of Sinomine Resource Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony in Masvingo Province, Zimbabwe, for the rehabilitation of the road from Sosera Shopping Center to Ndambani. The project involves a 4-kilometer rural road that connects 8 villages along the route and serves approximately 400 households. Representatives of Bikita Minerals, local traditional leader Chief Marozva, and heads of villages along the route attended the ceremony.

The road to be rehabilitated connects to the Mutare–Masvingo trunk road, and residents along the route mainly use it to access public facilities such as schools, clinics, markets, and livestock dip tanks. Due to long-term use and insufficient maintenance, the road surface has suffered severe damage, restricting the passage of local public transport vehicles and affecting the transport of agricultural products. The rehabilitation targets an existing rural road; the project does not involve the construction of a new road alignment.

Bikita Minerals will be responsible for advancing the road rehabilitation project and coordinating construction matters with the local community and relevant participants. According to the project schedule released by the company on October 10, the next step will be to refine the construction plan, construction scope, and delivery schedule. The company announcement has not yet disclosed the project investment amount, construction contractor, road technical standards, or expected completion date.

The project is included in Bikita Minerals' community infrastructure construction plan implemented around the mining area. Previously, the company has carried out projects in the local area including road maintenance, borehole water extraction, medical assistance, and community support. The scope of this road rehabilitation is concentrated on the Sosera to Ndambani section, involving an existing transport corridor connected to the trunk road.
