en.Wedoany.com Reported - Japan Post announced on July 3 that it will adjust the basic shipping fees for its "Yu-Pack" home delivery service and "Yu-Packet" small parcel service starting October 1. The adjustment is driven by rising costs due to increases in prices and labor expenses. In addition to basic shipping fees, prices for ancillary products, packaging materials, and parcel acceptance conditions will also change.

The basic shipping fee for "Yu-Pack" varies by size and destination, with an average increase of about 10%. The fee for "Weight Yu-Pack" is set at the adjusted basic shipping fee plus 620 yen, and for "Airport Yu-Pack" plus 880 yen. Additionally, a new weight condition of up to 30 kg per parcel has been introduced for golf, ski, and airport-specific "Yu-Pack" services. Furthermore, 19 types of packaging materials will see price increases; for example, the "Yu-Pack" box (size 120) will rise from 380 yen to 420 yen.

Previously, "Yu-Packet" fees were divided into three tiers based on thickness: 250 yen for up to 1 cm, 310 yen for up to 2 cm, and 360 yen for up to 3 cm. These have now been unified at 360 yen. Parcels with a thickness of up to 1 cm will see a fee increase of 110 yen.

The "Click Post" service, which can be sent from mailboxes, will also increase from 185 yen to 240 yen, but acceptance conditions have been relaxed: the weight limit has been raised from 1 kg to 2 kg, and the size limit has been adjusted from "length 34 cm, width 25 cm, thickness 3 cm" to "total of three sides 60 cm, length 34 cm, and can be inserted into a mailbox." The delivery method will be unified to mailbox drop-off, and counter drop-off will no longer be accepted.

Japan Post stated that this adjustment is a necessary measure to cope with cost increases from rising prices and labor expenses, aiming to maintain stable logistics services. At the same time, the company plans to launch a "Yu-Pack Smartphone Discount" promotion through its post office app, offering shipping fees lower than regular prices.
