Bangladesh Reduces LPG and Auto Gas Prices, 12kg Cylinder Down by 357 Taka

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced on July 2, 2026, a reduction in the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and auto gas, with the retail price of a 12kg LPG cylinder reduced by 357 taka and auto gas prices down by 16.53 taka per liter.

Under the adjusted prices, the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been reduced from 1,885 taka to 1,528 taka; the retail price of auto gas has been reduced from 86.93 taka per liter to 70.40 taka per liter. BERC Chairman Jalal Ahmed announced the new prices, which took effect at 6:00 PM on July 2, and all licensed LPG marketing companies must comply.

According to the BERC announcement, the retail price of privately sold LPG has been set at 123.55 taka per kilogram (including VAT), down from 153.31 taka. The commission also reduced the price of LPG supplied through private own pipeline systems from 340.70 taka per cubic meter to 274.50 taka per cubic meter.

Retail prices for privately sold LPG cylinders of various sizes have been adjusted accordingly: 12.5kg cylinder at 1,591 taka, 15kg cylinder at 1,910 taka, 16kg cylinder at 2,037 taka, 18kg cylinder at 2,291 taka, 20kg cylinder at 2,546 taka, 22kg cylinder at 2,801 taka, 25kg cylinder at 3,183 taka, 30kg cylinder at 3,819 taka, 33kg cylinder at 4,201 taka, 35kg cylinder at 4,456 taka, and 45kg cylinder at 5,729 taka.

In a separate notice, BERC stated that the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has abolished VAT on the production stage of LPG and imposed VAT at the import stage.
