Each Mic Mini 2S transmitter is equipped with a 14.5 GB built-in storage module, allowing users to record audio directly to the transmitter's memory without needing to connect to a receiver, camera, or smartphone. In 24-bit recording mode, the storage space can hold approximately 28 hours of audio; in 32-bit mode, it is about 22 hours. Users can export raw recordings or recordings processed by DJI's algorithm via the official DJI app.

The receiver supports connecting up to four transmitters simultaneously and can be used interchangeably with the previous generation Mic Mini transmitters. This feature is suitable for recording interviews, podcasts, and multi-guest shots. The receiver supports four-channel audio output, making it easy to process each audio track separately during post-editing. This function is enabled after connecting the transmitter to the camera via a cable or the official DJI hot shoe, but it is only compatible with select Sony camera models.

Like all current DJI microphones, the Mic Mini 2S features OsmoAudio technology, allowing the transmitter to connect directly to DJI cameras such as the Osmo Action 6, Osmo Nano, Osmo 360, and Osmo Pocket 4.

In terms of battery life, the Mic Mini 2S transmitter lasts 11 hours, the receiver lasts 10 hours, and the total battery life with the charging case is 40 hours, which is lower than the Mic Mini 2's 48 hours. The most expensive kit is priced at $180 and includes a charging case, a universal receiver, a compact receiver for smartphones, two transmitters, a set of magnetic mounts, windshields, an audio cable, a USB-C charging cable, a set of colored panels, and a carrying case. A kit with the same content but without the compact receiver is priced at $166.
