en.Wedoany.com Reported - On November 6, Cavli Wireless, a US-based IoT communication device company, announced its plan to release the P16QS LTE Cat 1bis cellular IoT communication module, which is scheduled to be showcased for the first time at electronica 2026 in Munich, Germany, from November 10 to 13. The module integrates a 325 MHz RISC-V processor, LTE cellular communication, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4 technologies, and is designed for smart payment terminals, in-vehicle communication, and industrial IoT devices. A point-of-sale terminal solution based on this module will be demonstrated on-site.

The P16QS uses a 32-bit RISC-V processor running at 325 MHz and supports real-time operating system application development. The module complies with the 3GPP Release 14 specification and adopts LTE Cat 1bis communication technology, with peak download and upload rates of 10 Mbps and 5 Mbps, respectively. It also integrates Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4 communication capabilities, enabling connectivity between cellular networks and local wireless devices.

The module comes in a 40.0×30.0×2.7 mm LGA package, features a built-in hardware security element, and is equipped with near-field communication, smart card reader, and magnetic stripe reader interfaces, supporting smart payment terminal development. The product also offers optional multi-constellation global navigation satellite system and integrated eSIM functionality, supporting GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS satellite positioning systems.

The P16QS can achieve cellular network connectivity, eSIM lifecycle management, device monitoring, and remote diagnostics through the Cavli Hubble cloud platform. The module provides GPIO, I2C, SPI, audio, display, and other peripheral interfaces, making it suitable for asset tracking, in-vehicle telematics, smart meters, and secure IoT terminals.

Cavli plans to showcase a point-of-sale terminal concept solution based on the P16QS at Booth 628, Hall C2, at electronica, demonstrating the integrated application of cellular communication, local data processing, secure payment interfaces, and wireless connectivity. The company also plans to exhibit router prototypes developed based on the CQM220 5G RedCap and CQM211 5G NR communication modules, as well as the Cortex AI firmware development assistance tool, during the same event.
