Quectel Releases R19 Standard Narrowband Satellite Communication Module

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 19, Quectel officially released its new-generation narrowband satellite communication module CC200XA-LS, which supports the 3GPP NB-NTN R19 non-terrestrial network standard and is compatible with both L and S satellite communication bands as well as major global satellite networks. The product is currently in the development stage and is planned to be available to customers as engineering samples with technical support by the end of 2026, targeting satellite IoT terminal development and cross-regional deployment.

The CC200XA-LS supports L-band n249 and n255 as well as S-band n256 and B23, and adopts an LCC+LGA package with dimensions of 17.7 mm × 15.8 mm × 2.0 mm. The module integrates flash memory, pseudo-static RAM and embedded network protocols, features a low-power architecture and high-sensitivity receiver design, supports industrial-grade wide-temperature operating environments, and can be integrated into portable terminals, tracking devices and remote sensors.

In terms of data transmission, the module offers maximum uplink and downlink rates of 10 kbit/s each, provides SIM card, serial port, USB, ADC and GPIO interfaces, and supports firmware upgrades via serial port or USB. The product supports two-way satellite network communication and can be used for remote data collection, device status reporting and control command delivery, with application scenarios including maritime logistics, mining equipment, cargo tracking, power grid and oil and gas pipeline monitoring.

Quectel also announced the direction of its subsequent satellite communication product development, including a Cat.1 bis+NB-NTN module that supports switching between terrestrial cellular networks and narrowband satellite networks, as well as an NR-NTN satellite communication module that supports higher data transmission rates. Both product types are included in the company's subsequent product development plan.
