en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 24, German test and measurement equipment company Rohde & Schwarz launched the R&S SAM200 system amplifier, extending the frequency coverage of its system amplifier product line to 53 GHz. The new product includes two versions, SAM200 and SAM200 Advanced, with an operating frequency range of 20 GHz to 53 GHz and a maximum saturated output power of 4 W, primarily targeting RF component testing in the Ka, Q, and V bands.

The SAM200 is primarily used as a high-performance gain module and can be paired with test equipment such as signal generators and vector network analyzers to boost RF test power when the original instrument's output power is insufficient. The SAM200 Advanced integrates a power detector, USB and LAN interfaces, and a web-based control interface, and provides three switchable RF paths, allowing switching between low-noise high-gain, normal, and low-gain modes.

The series employs a solid-state power amplification architecture and is equipped with output mismatch protection and a progressive power back-off mechanism to reduce the risk of equipment damage under abnormal load conditions. The product is available in benchtop and 4HU rack-mount configurations, suitable for laboratory test systems and integrated RF test platforms.

Rohde & Schwarz plans to showcase the SAM200 on-site at European Microwave Week 2026, held in London from October 6 to 8. One demonstration will combine the SAM200 with the R&S ZNA vector network analyzer for Ka-band high-power amplifier characterization; another demonstration will use the SMW200A vector signal generator and FSW signal and spectrum analyzer to test linearity under wideband modulated signal conditions.

Following the launch of the SAM200, Rohde & Schwarz's system amplifier product line extends from the 2–20 GHz covered by the SAM100 to 53 GHz, further expanding its application scope to satellite links, radar, backhaul links, and RF front-end testing for high-frequency mobile communications.
