en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 16, Microwave Factory and Rohde & Schwarz announced the completion of a 5G terminal SAR testing system integration, with Microwave Factory's MATEOS high-speed SAR measurement software officially adding support for the R&S CMX500 5G integrated signaling tester. The new solution connects the CMX500 and SPEAG's cSAR3D vector array system into a single test workflow, enabling automated SAR measurements for 5G NR standalone, non-standalone, and LTE terminals.

Following this integration, test personnel can control the SAR measurement workflow through a single MATEOS software interface, eliminating the need to separately perform manual call configuration and independent setup on the CMX500 test platform as before. The two companies stated that the solution was developed in response to customer demand for automated joint testing of the CMX500 and SPEAG SAR systems, with key applications in mobile terminal R&D, certification, and laboratory testing.

The CMX500 is a wireless communication test platform for 5G terminals, covering LTE, 5G FR1, and FR2 millimeter-wave testing in a single unit. FR1 covers frequencies up to 8 GHz, while FR2 covers up to 50 GHz. It supports both 5G SA and NSA modes and can perform RF, functional, application, and protocol testing. The platform also supports cellular and non-cellular signaling and non-signaling testing, and can be extended to Wi-Fi 7 testing.

In this solution, the CMX500 is primarily responsible for establishing and controlling 5G NR and LTE wireless connections, the SPEAG cSAR3D handles RF exposure field measurements, and MATEOS integrates communication connection configuration and SAR measurement processes into an automated workflow. This forms an integrated test chain of "wireless connection establishment — test condition configuration — SAR measurement — result output."

SPEAG continues to update the cSAR3D system. Its cSAR3D software version released in March 2026 is V5.10.8.3621, which provides test support for 5G NR FR1. The system uses a vector array approach for RF exposure measurement and can work with terminal communication test platforms to complete SAR testing of mobile devices.

Rohde & Schwarz positions the CMX500 as a test platform covering the complete lifecycle of 5G terminals, with applications including R&D design, end-to-end application testing, production testing, and conformance testing. With the integration of MATEOS, its 5G signaling test capabilities now extend further into automated SAR testing workflows.
