en.Wedoany.com Reported - Portugal's DSTgroup has secured a construction contract to serve as the general contractor for a new tourism project in Vila Nova de Santo André, on the Alentejo coast. The project is designed to accommodate 1,200 guests across 339 units, with a total investment of approximately €52 million, and will be executed by Zethaus, the industrialized construction brand under DSTgroup.

According to a statement released by the group, the project represents "one of the largest applications of industrialized construction in Portuguese tourism." The investor's identity has not been disclosed.

The construction plan will combine 2D and 3D industrialized technologies, utilizing the group's self-produced precast concrete components and fully equipped modules with bathroom facilities and kitchenettes (referred to as PODS). The goal is to achieve significant improvements in efficiency, quality, sustainability, and schedule control.

Sérgio Xisto, Commercial Director of DSTgroup, noted in the statement that the construction industry is facing one of its most severe challenges in decades: meeting the demand for new assets with high quality, sustainability, and efficiency amid a growing labor shortage. He stated that Zethaus being selected signifies "a strong recognition of our established capabilities and the maturity that industrialized construction has reached in Portugal."

The project execution will involve multiple companies within the group: dst as the general contractor, Zethaus developing industrialized construction solutions, prelabt producing precast concrete components, and dte handling specialized technical facilities. The project is expected to be completed by summer 2028, aiming to strengthen accommodation supply in the Alentejo coastal region, which boasts strong economic, tourism, and commercial vitality.

Zethaus is a brand under DSTgroup focused on industrialized construction, covering residential, healthcare, education, commercial, and tourism sectors. The system is already in use at the group's Living Lab campus in Braga, developed in collaboration with architect Norman Foster. DSTgroup is a Portuguese conglomerate with operations in engineering and construction, environment, renewable energy, telecommunications, real estate, and venture capital, with a presence in France, the UK, the Netherlands, Monaco, and Angola.
