The product is the result of Doosan's redesign of the platform after acquiring palletizing specialist Onexia.
At the core of PalletizHD+ is Doosan's five-axis P3020 collaborative robot, featuring a 30 kg payload and a 2-meter working radius. The robot works in conjunction with the company's proprietary PalletizOS platform, which unifies robot control, simulation, and application software into a single environment. Andrew Cook, Managing Director of Doosan Robotics Americas, stated that with robot engineers and AI software developers, the company has successfully created a new generation of easy-to-use software.
The software is designed to eliminate the programming complexity common in palletizing applications. Operators input carton dimensions and pallet parameters, and the system automatically generates and recommends optimized stacking patterns. According to the company's press release, a smartphone-like interface simplifies the setup process and accelerates changeover times when switching packaging formats, product types, or carton sizes. The flagship feature, SwiftMove, is an AI-based motion optimization engine that analyzes robot trajectories and optimizes motion paths before operation. Using the same hardware as the previous generation PalletizHD system, Cook stated that the software improves performance from 7-8 picks per minute to up to 11 picks, an increase of approximately 57%.
The platform also integrates remote support capabilities, allowing users to monitor system status and troubleshoot issues, helping to reduce downtime and response times. Cook noted that the company currently offers the best-performing collaborative robot palletizer on the market, with a small footprint, safe operation without the need for guarding, and ease of use.
