The route initially operates one flight per week using an Airbus A320, marking the latest step in FlyAden's ongoing efforts to rebuild Yemen's international air connectivity.

FlyAden commenced operations in November 2025, wet-leasing a Boeing 737-800 from Red Sea Airlines. In March of this year, FlyAden received its first owned A320 aircraft at Aden International Airport, previously operated by Royal Jordanian Airlines. This represents a significant step in the airline's expansion and Yemen's restoration of international air links after years of disruption.

FlyAden currently operates regular flights from Aden to Amman, the capital of Jordan, Cairo, and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, and is preparing to launch Hajj and Umrah flights. The airline plans to add a second A320 later this year to continue expanding its route network, with a strategy to steadily grow its fleet and network "year by year."

Shabib Al Lawati, Director of Traffic Development at Dammam Airport, stated that significant efforts were made behind securing the new airline. He noted that attracting new airlines is no easy feat in today's highly competitive market, as each carrier carefully evaluates the commercial viability of new destinations. He said this achievement reflects the value of strong partnerships and a shared commitment to expanding Dammam's connectivity.

Al Lawati stated that Dammam Airport will next focus on supporting FlyAden by stimulating passenger demand, enhancing the airline's market presence, expanding its reach, and building a sustainable business case, thereby laying the foundation for future increases in flight frequency. He added that successful air traffic development is not measured by launching a single route, but by ensuring that route succeeds, grows, and continues to create value for the airline, airport, passengers, and the broader aviation ecosystem.
