These sales are part of Onsemi's long-standing "Fab Right" manufacturing strategy, which aims to concentrate production in the most competitive and scalable factories, reducing the cost of its global manufacturing footprint. Onsemi primarily develops power management and sensing semiconductors for electric vehicles, industrial automation systems, and AI data centers.

The Philippines factory sold to Greatek Electronics is a semiconductor packaging and testing facility, with the transaction expected to close in three to six months. The Mountain Top manufacturing facility sold to Silex is planned to be completed by January 2028 to allow for production transfer to other locations. Onsemi did not disclose the financial value of either transaction but stated that both factories will continue operations during the transition period. The company has also signed a long-term supply agreement with Greatek Electronics to ensure uninterrupted product delivery.

Onsemi previously forecast second-quarter 2026 revenue between $1.54 billion and $1.64 billion. In the first quarter of 2026, the company reported revenue of $1.513 billion, up from $1.45 billion in the same period last year. AI-related demand, particularly from data center customers, was a significant growth driver, with AI data center revenue more than doubling year-over-year. Onsemi posted a net loss of $33.4 million in the first quarter, or $0.08 per diluted share, a significant improvement from a loss of $486.1 million ($1.15 per share) in the same period last year. Since the start of 2026, Onsemi's stock has risen nearly 75%, but fell more than 3% in pre-market trading following the sale announcement.
