en.Wedoany.com Reported - Infineon Technologies AG has launched the SECORA ID Key S USB, a Java Card-based solution integrating USB and NFC connectivity for secure authentication and digital signatures. As the first FIDO-certified Level 3+ solution compliant with CTAP 2.1, this authenticator provides phishing-resistant, passwordless authentication while defending against remote software and local hardware attacks. The solution comes with pre-loaded applets for FIDO authentication, qualified digital signature creation, and PKI functions, along with comprehensive customization options. This end-to-end solution is built on Infineon's system-in-package ID Key S USB hardware platform, combined with an open Java Card environment, enabling customers to develop, migrate, and deploy proprietary applets for applications such as physical access, crypto wallets, and software rights management, meeting the needs of enterprises, financial institutions, and government applications.

Maurizio Skerlj, Senior Vice President and Product Line Manager for Authentication and Identification Solutions at Infineon, stated that the SECORA ID Key S USB provides organizations with a proven and certified solution that addresses current security challenges and can be deployed at scale in any environment, including enterprise workplaces, government applications, and financial institutions.

The SECORA ID Key S USB is based on Infineon's SLC38 security controller and runs a Java Card operating system compatible with Java Card 3.1 and GlobalPlatform v2.3.1. The platform offers 250 kB of user non-volatile memory (NVM), with an additional 64 kB available if the ISO file system applet is removed, along with 7,392 bytes of usable user RAM. The solution fully supports cryptographic operations, including secure key management and certificate handling for encrypted communications and digital signatures. Built on Infineon's security technology, the solution combines the Infineon ID Key S USB hardware with an open Java Card platform, providing flexibility and scalability for passwordless authentication and identification use cases. It is compatible with environments lacking integrated smart card readers, simplifying deployment within existing IT systems, and combines hardware-level security with application versatility.

The SECORA ID Key S USB is offered as a specific system-in-package (SiP) solution that integrates the security controller with a USB bridge controller. This streamlined single package features a compact form factor of 4 x 4 x 0.85 mm, helping to reduce bill of materials costs and simplify logistics and inventory management for OEMs. To facilitate integration, Infineon provides development tools such as the Java Card development environment and the Infineon Configurator, along with technical support, training, and consulting services. Infineon is collaborating with multiple ecosystem partners to develop new use cases and applications for authentication solutions.
