en.Wedoany.com Reported - Lion One Metals (TSX-V:LIO) recently achieved a 21% quarter-over-quarter increase in gold production, primarily driven by the return of its former operations director.

The company recovered 3,291 ounces of gold from its Tuvatu gold mine in Fiji during the June quarter, with an average head grade of 4.3 grams per tonne of gold. Production increased from 2,726 ounces in the previous quarter.

Throughout the quarter, the processing plant demonstrated steady improvement, achieving a record quarterly recovery rate of 84.9%, compared to 71.7% in the prior quarter. The plant achieved a record monthly recovery rate of 87.7% in June.

Chief Executive Officer Ian Berzins stated that he was very pleased with the strong rebound in the latter half of the quarter, noting improvements across all metrics at both the mine and the processing plant compared to the previous quarter, including significant enhancements in gold production, gold recovery rates, and mine development.

The company processed 27,985 tonnes of mineralized material during the quarter, averaging 308 tonnes per day, exceeding the rated capacity of 300 tonnes. Plant utilization reached 90% in the quarter.

Underground mine development totaled 1,652 meters in the quarter, a 28% increase from 1,288 meters in the previous quarter. The company achieved a record monthly development rate of 587 meters in May.

The flotation circuit was successfully commissioned during the quarter and is now operating continuously, helping to improve metallurgical performance.

Lion One attributed the production rebound to Eric Setchell's return to the position of Operations Director in May.

The company recorded no lost-time incidents during the quarter, with a total recordable incident frequency of 4.37, compared to 6.55 in the previous quarter.

Berzins added that the company is working to restore production to the levels achieved by the end of 2025 and ultimately surpass those levels as Tuvatu's development progresses.

Lion One Metals is a Canadian junior gold producer focused on advancing its wholly owned Tuvatu alkaline gold project in Fiji, supported by a large exploration license package covering the Navilawa caldera.
