en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Serbian government has issued a public call for expressions of interest from U.S. companies to participate in the implementation of the Đerdap 3 pumped storage hydropower project, with the invitation published on the website of the U.S. Embassy in Serbia.

Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović stated that six companies have responded to the public call, and the evaluation process is currently underway. She noted that the public call for U.S. companies closed on June 25, with the process led by a Serbian government working group under the strategic cooperation agreement in the energy sector between the Serbian government and the U.S. government.
Meanwhile, the Romanian government has approved the initiation of negotiations and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Serbia to facilitate information exchange on the proposed Đerdap 3 project.
Discussing plans to invest 14.4 billion euros in the energy sector through the National Investment Program by 2030-2035, Đedović Handanović emphasized that many tasks must be completed for the country to move forward, and every day matters. She added that this generation must recognize its responsibility to ensure energy security for the next 50 to 60 years. The minister also noted that preparatory work for another pumped storage hydropower project—Bistrica—has been accelerated, with construction expected to begin this year.
