en.Wedoany.com Reported - Indonesian airline TransNusa plans to launch a new route from Jakarta to Bangkok in the second half of 2026, aiming to enhance connectivity between two major business and tourism hubs in Southeast Asia.
Datuk Bernard Francis, Group CEO of TransNusa, stated that the highly anticipated new routes—from Jakarta to Bangkok, as well as from Bali to Wakatobi and Waingapu—will strengthen the company's international and domestic connectivity network. Bernard added that these regional routes are part of TransNusa's strategy to expand connectivity, addressing the growing travel demand between Indonesia and Thailand, two markets with close tourism ties.
Bernard noted that Thailand is one of the key tourism hubs in the region, and therefore, TransNusa's scheduled flights will provide passengers with greater flexibility while promoting trade and tourism between the two countries. The Jakarta-Bangkok route is one of the busiest and most robust international routes in the region, serving millions of passengers annually. By operating daily scheduled flights on this route, the company aims to offer passengers a more seamless transfer experience, connecting Southeast Asia and beyond. Bernard said the company's goal is to continuously improve accessibility in Southeast Asia by launching new routes and expanding its international and domestic network.
Regarding specific flight schedules, TransNusa will operate two daily flights on the Jakarta-Bangkok route; three weekly direct flights on the Bali-Wakatobi route (Monday, Thursday, and Sunday); and four weekly direct flights on the Bali-Waingapu route (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday).
