en.Wedoany.com Reported - AZZ Inc. achieved record sales growth in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, with both the Metal Coatings and Precoat Metals segments posting quarterly highs, prompting the company to raise its full-year financial guidance.
Total sales for the quarter ended May 31, 2026, reached $448.5 million, a 6.3% increase from $422.0 million in the same period last year. The Metal Coatings segment generated $210.3 million in sales, up 12.3% year-over-year, driven by increased volumes from project spending in the construction, industrial, and infrastructure markets. The segment reported adjusted EBITDA of $63.8 million, with an adjusted EBITDA margin of 30.3%, down 260 basis points from the prior year, primarily due to a land sale gain included in the year-ago period and a higher mix of large projects in the current quarter.
The Precoat Metals segment posted sales of $238.2 million, up 1.5% year-over-year. AZZ attributed the growth to increased production at its Washington, Missouri, facility and price increases implemented to offset higher paint and other input costs. However, this growth was partially offset by lower volumes in the construction, infrastructure, HVAC, and appliance markets. The segment's EBITDA was $51.8 million, with an EBITDA margin of 21.7%, up 100 basis points from the prior year.
Tom Ferguson, President and CEO of AZZ, stated that the Precoat Metals segment benefited from pricing actions and continued production ramp-up at the Washington facility, while the Metal Coatings segment achieved double-digit sales growth driven by higher galvanized steel volumes.
AZZ raised its fiscal 2027 sales guidance to a range of $1.80 billion to $1.85 billion, up from the previous range of $1.725 billion to $1.775 billion. Adjusted EBITDA guidance was raised to a range of $375 million to $415 million, and adjusted diluted earnings per share guidance was raised to a range of $6.75 to $7.15. The company expects capital expenditures of approximately $80 million to $100 million for fiscal 2027, with investments allocated to expanding hot-dip galvanizing capacity and technological improvements in both the Metal Coatings and Precoat Metals businesses.
Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, AZZ provides hot-dip galvanizing, coil coating, and other metal finishing services across North America.
