en.Wedoany.com Reported - The AI Network Alliance (AINA) plans to unveil five AI network demonstration projects based on South Korean manufacturing sites at the AI-RAN Alliance plenary meeting to be held in Seoul this November. This announcement aims to showcase technological advantages and drive global standard-setting, paving the way for South Korean companies to expand overseas.

The AI-RAN Alliance, founded in 2024 by companies including NVIDIA, Samsung Electronics, and SoftBank, is responsible for researching the convergence and integration of AI and wireless communication technology (RAN). The alliance has confirmed that the second-half plenary meeting will be held in Seoul, marking the first time it will take place outside the United States and Europe.
While building a global ecosystem for AI networks, AINA supports the government's demonstrations under the "HyperAI Network Strategy." This plenary meeting will introduce the government's AI network demonstration projects launched this year and present industry-specific application cases, operational plans, and expected outcomes to global communication and network companies.
Key projects include the "High-Performance AI Network Pilot Network Construction Project" promoted by SK Telecom (SKT) and KT. The core content involves unveiling the construction of AI networks in the petrochemical and mobility (SKT consortium) and shipbuilding (KT consortium) sectors, along with advancing practical manufacturing cases integrated with Physical AI.

Additionally, the Open RAN intelligence project based on 5G private networks, the campus next-generation network demonstration project utilizing AI-RAN, and the Chuncheon Hope Industrial Complex next-generation private network demonstration project supported by the Korea Communications Agency (KCA) will be detailed at the plenary meeting, totaling five cases.
AINA's goal extends beyond sharing results; it aims to establish the AI-RAN construction and operational experience of South Korean companies as the standard architecture for the AI-RNA (as written) Alliance. To this end, it plans to hold the first "KRAIN (Korea Real-World AI Network) 2026" event in September this year, introducing the demonstration projects in advance and conducting final checks on standard proposals.
The plenary meeting will be attended by member companies including NVIDIA, Qualcomm, SoftBank, T-Mobile, Nokia, and Ericsson, as well as domestic companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom (SKT), KT, and LG U+. The Ministry of Science and ICT, companies, and industry associations are actively preparing to showcase South Korea's technological capabilities.
AINA Operations Committee Chair Kim Dong-gu (Professor at Yonsei University) stated that although the AI network demonstration projects have just begun, the industry is highly interested in next-generation network use cases, making it significant to introduce the projects at the plenary meeting. The team will actively promote the demonstration projects to contribute to the AI-RAN Alliance, aiming for them to be subsequently adopted as standard architecture.
