en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Dutch energy transition has reached a milestone in the province of Drenthe: the H2 Hollandia project has successfully produced its first 25 kilograms of green hydrogen. Although the entire installation is not yet fully completed, this initial production run has verified that the system is operating normally.
Next, the project will install compressors and hydrogen refueling infrastructure, enabling local industry and heavy transport sectors to use green hydrogen. The special significance of the H2 Hollandia project lies in its integration of large-scale sustainable energy generation, intelligent hydrogen production, and regional practical applications. This approach is precisely what the energy transition requires: not only producing sustainable energy but also ensuring that energy is utilized in the right form, at the right time, and in the right place. For some applications, green electricity is the best option; in other scenarios, green hydrogen plays a crucial role.

The successful production of the first batch of green hydrogen marks a key step forward for the H2 Hollandia project. With its scale, ambition, and impact, this project holds a unique position in the Netherlands. Going forward, the project will continue to advance the installation and infrastructure development to supply green hydrogen to local industry and heavy transport. This milestone would not have been possible without the joint efforts of all participants, with special thanks to Avitec, the Municipality of Borger-Odoorn, and the Province of Drenthe for their involvement and support. The first green hydrogen has been successfully produced, and this is just the beginning.
