en.Wedoany.com Reported - The digitalization project for Tatarstan's engineering networks continues, with the 2026 work plan set to be implemented in the Kama Agglomeration. Digital records of utility infrastructure will cover the Yelabuga District, Nizhnekamsk District, Tukayevsky District, Menzelinsk District, Mendeleevsk District, and the city of Chistopol.
In 2025, the project achieved the digitalization of 26,000 kilometers of engineering networks. According to the plan, an additional 19,000 kilometers will be digitalized this year.
The project is being implemented by experts from the Institute of Spatial Planning of the Republic of Tatarstan (Институт пространственного планирования РТ) within the framework of the regional program "Breakthrough IT Solutions." Its goal is to establish a unified system for engineering communications in Tatarstan, with plans to convert all engineering networks in the republic to digital format by 2029.
The Institute of Spatial Planning of Tatarstan, together with contractors, conducts inventory and surveys of water supply, drainage, and heating networks. This work is necessary because these pipelines are managed by various resource supply organizations and local authorities. Simultaneously, data collection for electricity, gas networks, and communication lines is also underway.
Network digitalization will shorten the design cycle for new facilities, accelerate network connection processes, and help minimize the risk of pipeline damage during construction. For residents, the key outcome will be a reduction in the frequency of utility accidents and an increase in the efficiency of planned repairs. Additionally, digitalization will improve the accuracy of tariff forecasting and control.
The network digitalization project was launched last year, with initial work carried out in the Kazan Agglomeration.
