en.Wedoany.com Reported - Japanese rental company Nikken showcased its products and services aimed at improving productivity, safety, and environmental load at construction sites at the "8th International Construction & Surveying Exhibition (CSPI2026)" (held from June 17 to 20, 2026) at Makuhari Messe. The booth was organized around four concepts: "Surveying," "Building," "Connecting," and "Protecting," with the "Building" area being the focal point of this exhibition.

This area featured products developed independently by Nikken or in collaboration with general contractors and manufacturers, primarily addressing labor-saving challenges in daily tasks such as on-site transport, cleaning, washing, key management, chalk line marking, and exterior material installation. A booth representative stated that there are many opportunities for efficiency improvement at construction sites not covered by ICT and AI solutions, and that addressing each small issue and accumulating improvements can also drive on-site efficiency gains.

"Himo-n II (ひもーんII)" is an automatic tracking transport robot cart equipped with a function to recognize yellow and red ropes and travel along the route. The representative noted that the robot can also automatically follow an operator's footsteps, supports one robot following another manually operated cart, and is designed to allow multiple units to track simultaneously. The product was developed based on an analysis of a craftsman's daily work, which revealed that transporting tools and materials consumes a significant amount of time. Mechanizing the small-scale movement of heavy loads can directly reduce the burden on workers. The Himo-n II has a maximum load capacity of 600 kg, a top travel speed of 4 km/h, a charging time of 9.5 hours, and a maximum driving time of 4 hours.

"TO Gather (TOギャザー)" is an autonomous cleaning robot that identifies the cleaning area by placing cones with reflective markers at the four corners, automatically generates a cleaning path, covers a maximum area of 40×40 meters, and can collect debris from a 100 cubic meter space within 30 minutes. Using fire-resistant coating spraying work as an example, the representative pointed out that at some sites, all workers participate in cleaning after spraying. If the robot autonomously handles rough cleaning, it can reduce cleaning time, allowing that time to be allocated to spraying work.
