The new plant will be located at Triester Strabe in the Nuremberg port area, where the company already operates a sleeper storage yard. The yard and the new production site together cover approximately 42,000 square meters.

Once operational, the plant will be capable of producing up to 600,000 concrete sleepers annually, making it the most advanced manufacturing facility within the PCM RAILONE Group.

This investment marks a significant milestone for the company, as the new plant will eventually replace RAILONE's existing production base in Neumarkt. The Neumarkt plant, built in 1954 and the company's oldest concrete sleeper factory, will be closed after production is transferred to Nuremberg.

The new plant will be equipped with a highly automated turntable-based late-stripping production system, designed to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and sustainability. Verena Zahradnik stated that this investment sends a clear signal of long-term commitment to the German market.

She added that a high-performance, forward-looking base is being built in Nuremberg to ensure a stable supply of prestressed concrete sleepers to Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG) and international customers.

The new plant will include storage capacity for approximately 200,000 sleepers and two 350-meter-long rail loading tracks, and is expected to create 50 to 70 jobs in production and management. RAILONE stated that this investment supports the growing demand for modern railway infrastructure while consolidating Germany's position as a manufacturing hub for the European railway industry.
