en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 14 and September 18 local time, PowerChina signed the design and construction contract for the Kadinjaca Tunnel Project and the design-build general contracting contract for Lot 3 of the Phase 1 main line of Belgrade Metro Line 1 with the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, Roads of Serbia, the Secretariat for Public Transport of the City of Belgrade, and Belgrade Metro and Train Company in Belgrade. Aleksandra Sofronijevic, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, Liu Shaoquan, Deputy General Manager of PowerChina International and General Manager of the Eurasia Regional Headquarters, and representatives of the Serbian contracting parties attended the signing ceremony.

Phase 1 of Belgrade Metro Line 1 runs from Zeleznik Station in the south to the Karaburma shaft in the north, passing through the central urban area from southwest to northeast, with a total length of 15.4 kilometers, including a 10-kilometer TBM section. It is planned to build 15 stations, 10 shafts, and 1 depot. The Lot 3 signed this time, together with Lots 1 and 2 already under construction, forms the complete civil engineering works of Phase 1 of Belgrade Metro Line 1. After the entire line is completed and opened to traffic, it will fill the gap in Belgrade's urban underground rail transit, jointly build a backbone urban public transport network with the existing surface public transport, effectively alleviate traffic congestion in the central urban area, and facilitate green and low-carbon travel for citizens.

The Kadinjaca Tunnel design and construction project is located on the Dub–Dubci section of the national road between Uzice and Bajina Basta in western Serbia. The section is 6.28 kilometers long, and the main works consist of a 1,260-meter dual-direction traffic tunnel crossing the Kadinjaca Pass, with an escape passage, as well as 6 bridges and 20 retaining structures. After completion, the project will significantly improve year-round traffic conditions in the mountainous areas of western Serbia and is of great significance for improving the regional road network structure and promoting economic and social development along the route.
Personnel from PowerChina's Eurasia Regional Headquarters, the Serbia Representative Office, and relevant member enterprises participated in the above signing activities.
