en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 12, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 300,000-ton annual prebaked anode project, a joint venture between China's Sunstone Development Co., Ltd. and Guizhou Aluminum Group Co., Ltd., was held in Shuicheng Economic Development Zone, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province.

Located in Shuicheng Economic Development Zone, Liupanshui City, the project plans to build a 300,000-ton annual prebaked anode production line, encompassing full processes including petroleum coke calcination, green anode manufacturing, and anode baking, along with supporting public auxiliary facilities such as waste heat power generation and flue gas purification. The project is constructed by Guizhou Sunstone Shuangyuan Carbon Materials Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 400 million yuan, of which Sunstone Development holds 65% and Guizhou Aluminum Group holds 35%.

Lang Guanghui, Chairman of Sunstone Development, stated in his speech that from the initial negotiation to the establishment of the joint venture company, both parties achieved a relatively short timeframe and high cooperation efficiency. Liupanshui, located at the junction of Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, and Guizhou, has a concentrated aluminum industry chain. The production base of this project can radiate across the entire southwestern region and synergize with Sunstone's production bases in Chongqing, Yunnan, and Guangxi. This joint venture project continues Sunstone Development's model of "co-creation, co-integration, and co-development" with downstream customers since 2010, with partners including central enterprises, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, and foreign-invested enterprises.

Tan Xiaojun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman, and General Manager of Guizhou Aluminum Group, pointed out that Sunstone Development is a leading enterprise in the domestic prebaked anode sector for aluminum. Guizhou is an important energy and raw material base in China, with the province's aluminum industry scale exceeding 100 billion yuan in 2025. Guizhou Aluminum Group holds over 300 million tons of bauxite resources, has a capacity of 200,000 tons of electrolytic aluminum, and will continue to expand. Shuicheng Economic Development Zone is a core cluster area for Guizhou's aluminum and aluminum processing industry, with a complete industrial chain. This project helps reduce the procurement cost of key raw materials for electrolytic aluminum, stabilize product quality, and enhance the synergy efficiency of the entire chain, serving as an important measure for Guizhou Aluminum Group to strengthen and extend its industrial chain.

Lin Qiang, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of China Construction Bank Guizhou Branch; Sun Daoguang, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Yunnan Construction Investment Second Construction Co., Ltd.; and Sun Meng, Manager of the Coal Chemical Industry Division of Baowu Carbon Technology Co., Ltd., attended the groundbreaking ceremony and delivered speeches. Zhu Rongxiang, Party Committee Secretary and President of China Construction Bank Liupanshui Branch, and Zhao Qinglin, Vice Chairman of Guizhou Aluminum Shuangyuan New Materials Co., Ltd., attended the ceremony. The groundbreaking ceremony was presided over by Liu Rui, Vice President of Sunstone Development.

Upon completion, this project can form regional synergies with Sunstone Development's production bases in Chongqing, Yunnan, and Guangxi, reducing procurement and management costs and enhancing its radiation capacity to the southwestern market.
