en.Wedoany.com Reported - BYK has launched a new wetting and dispersing additive called DISPERBYK-2180, specifically designed for inorganic pigments and fillers in water-based systems. Based on a polycarboxylate-ether structure, this additive meets the application requirements for high stability across a wide pH range.

The polycarboxylate-ether structure of DISPERBYK-2180 offers more possibilities for formulation design and aligns with the growing ecological demands. Due to its resistance to extreme pH values, this additive is highly suitable for biocide-free and VOC-free architectural coatings, such as (dispersion) silicate paints.
This additive reduces the viscosity of the mill base, thereby supporting high pigment loading and good processability. It helps achieve fine particle size and uniform particle distribution, positively impacting color and transparency.
The molecular structure of the additive contains a high concentration of ionic anchoring groups, making DISPERBYK-2180 highly efficient in deflocculating and stabilizing various inorganic particles, including titanium dioxide, transparent iron oxides, and fillers.
DISPERBYK-2180 has a wide range of applications, covering architectural coatings, wood coatings, furniture coatings, industrial coatings, as well as automotive OEM and refinish paints. Additionally, this additive can be used in marine coatings, anti-corrosion coatings, and printing inks and inkjet inks.
