This decision strengthens the global partnership between BMW M Motorsport and Shell since 2015, aiming to translate track technology into production solutions that enhance vehicle performance, efficiency, and protection.

The new agreement covers lubricant supply for all BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad models, with products required to meet the technical standards set by the manufacturer throughout the vehicle's lifecycle. Juan Pablo Madrigal, Director of Customer Service for BMW Group Latin America, stated that the alliance transfers innovations from motorsport to production vehicles, continuously elevating the iconic performance, efficiency, and quality standards of BMW and MINI.
The collaboration between BMW Group and Shell encompasses engine oils, service lubricants, and thermal management solutions for next-generation vehicles. These products utilize gas-to-liquid base oils, advanced additive systems, and jointly developed processes, followed by international testing and validation according to BMW Longlife specifications, with trials conducted under real-world operating conditions. Francisco Blanco, B2B Sales Director for Shell and Quaker State, emphasized that experience gained from BMW M Motorsport accelerates the development of new lubrication technologies, with data generated in international competitions ultimately benefiting millions of drivers using production vehicles.
The alliance also includes the development of fluids specific to electric vehicles, ultra-low viscosity lubricants, and more sustainable solutions to align with mobility evolution.
