en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 14, 2026, Nasdaq-listed Greek tanker owner Performance Shipping has extended the charter of its Aframax tanker Blue Moon with AET, the tanker arm of the MISC Group, for two years. The 104,623 dwt vessel, built in 2011, will earn $43,000 per day in the first year and $38,000 per day in the second year, averaging $40,500 per day.

Under the agreement, AET retains the option to shorten or extend the charter by 15 days. The new rate represents a significant increase from the vessel's current charter with AET at $28,000 per day. The initial 21-month charter was agreed in December 2024 and commenced the following month.
Blue Moon will undergo scheduled drydocking after the current charter expires, with the extended charter expected to begin directly in late 2026. Performance stated that the total revenue from the contract over the minimum period is approximately $29 million. The latest charter pushes the Athens-based shipowner's contracted revenue backlog to over $530 million, with charter coverage nearing 90% through the end of 2028 and approximately 60% in 2029.
Performance is securing more long-term charters for its tanker fleet. Earlier this month, the company extended the charter of the 2011-built Aframax tanker Briolette with Aramco Trading for nearly three years at $37,700 per day, adding approximately $39 million to the backlog.
