en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 16, a new product and technology launch event for enterprises stationed at the National Clean Energy Industry Highland Solar Thermal Technology Innovation Center was held in Xining, Qinghai. The world's first 8.6-meter aperture solar thermal molten salt trough collector model—CGN's "Yuanyao No.1"—was officially unveiled.
It is reported that this model has achieved significant progress in photoelectric conversion efficiency and full-chain independent controllability, providing core technical support for the large-scale development of China's solar thermal power generation.
"CGN's 'Yuanyao No.1' adopts an 8.6-meter large aperture design. Four collectors form a 732-meter loop, with a single-loop collector area of 5,970 square meters, equivalent to the total area of 14 standard basketball courts. Compared with traditional 5.7-meter aperture heat transfer oil trough collectors, the single-loop collector area has increased by approximately 83%, while the land area required has been reduced by 19%," said Yin Hang, CGN's Chief Model Expert. With the same mirror field area, the "Yuanyao No.1" significantly reduces the usage of supporting equipment such as pipelines, valves, and local control systems, effectively lowering the full-cycle costs of assembly, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
To comprehensively verify the performance boundaries of this model, CGN built China's first 8.6-meter aperture molten salt trough standardized pilot loop in Delingha City, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. Tests for process and performance under full operating conditions have been completed for three typical meteorological days: the winter solstice, the spring equinox, and the summer solstice.
Tested by a third-party laboratory with CNAS accreditation, the collector's solar-to-thermal efficiency exceeds 70%. The complete set of technologies for this molten salt trough collector has been evaluated and rated as internationally leading.
