en.Wedoany.com Reported - KisanKraft Ltd has entered the electric agricultural equipment market, launching two battery-powered machines designed for small and medium-sized farmers in India. The company claims the new equipment can reduce operational energy costs by over 90%, from approximately 170 rupees per hour for gasoline engines to nearly 10 rupees per hour.

KisanKraft has launched two Indian-made electric machines—the E-Inter-cultivator and the E-Self Propelled Reaper—as part of its new series of battery-powered farm equipment. This initiative aims to help small and medium-sized farmers reduce the rising costs of mechanization. Fuel remains the largest recurring expense for farm machinery, and gasoline engines also require regular maintenance and servicing. Labor shortages during weeding and harvesting seasons have intensified the demand for mechanized farming, and KisanKraft believes electric machinery offers a practical and economical solution.

The company is developing the new series on a dedicated electric platform, rather than simply replacing gasoline engines with electric motors, and plans to introduce more electric products such as boom sprayers in the future. Amit Sharma, CEO of KisanKraft Limited, stated that the energy cost of the new equipment can be reduced from approximately 170 rupees per hour to 10 rupees per hour. The E-Inter-cultivator and E-Self Propelled Reaper are just the beginning, and the company is designing a full range of electric machinery from the ground up in India for Indian farms.

These machines have undergone over 100 hours of testing across different geographical regions, soil types, and weather conditions in India to ensure reliable performance and durability. The E-Inter-cultivator has also passed independent testing and received approval from FMTTI (Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute).

The E-Inter-cultivator is designed for weeding and inter-cultivation operations, equipped with 32 J-shaped blades, weighing approximately 150 kg, capable of covering about one acre per hour, and running for nearly 3.5 hours on a single charge. The E-Self Propelled Reaper is designed for harvesting crops such as rice, wheat, millet, and soybeans, capable of harvesting about one acre per hour (including medium-moisture paddy fields) and running for approximately four hours on a single charge.

The electric machines feature removable batteries that can be fully charged in about 5.5 hours. The motor and controller have an IP67 protection rating, making them dustproof and waterproof, and are equipped with AIS (Automotive Industry Standard)-certified lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, expected to last over 2,000 to 2,500 charge cycles. The platform reduces operating costs by eliminating the need for fuel, oil, and several engine components, while quieter operation and lower vibration improve operator comfort during extended work periods. Future versions will include IoT features such as battery health monitoring and geofencing via a mobile application.
