en.Wedoany.com Reported - COSCO SHIPPING Lines has launched the Chancay Express Service 3 (CHX3), a weekly fixed-day container service connecting the ports of Paita and Chancay in Peru with Caldera in Costa Rica. The service aims to improve regional cargo flow and strengthen deep-sea service connections between South America and Asia.
The port of Paita in northern Peru serves as a gateway for container and cold chain logistics in the region, supporting the agricultural, seafood, mining, and textile industries in areas such as Piura, Lambayeque, and Cajamarca. The CHX3 service enables exporters to ship cargo directly from Paita to Chancay, where it can be transshipped onto mainline services bound for Asia. For exporters of products such as avocados, grapes, and seafood, reducing unnecessary inland transportation and warehousing helps lower logistics costs and improve reliability. COSCO SHIPPING Lines stated that the service is expected to reduce costs associated with trucking, warehousing, and container detention, while enhancing supply chain efficiency for refrigerated cargo.
This weekly service also provides a direct connection from Costa Rica's Pacific gateway at Caldera to the Chancay hub. According to COSCO SHIPPING Lines, as cargo volumes continue to shift toward the Port of Chancay, the new service aims to shorten transit times, improve schedule reliability, and offer customers greater delivery certainty in regional and international supply chains.
