en.Wedoany.com Reported - Algeria's national hydrocarbon company Sonatrach and German company Robert Bosch GmbH signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Berlin on July 17, 2026 (last Friday), aiming to jointly explore cooperation opportunities in the green hydrogen sector. The signing of this MoU took place during Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's official visit to Germany.
Under this MoU, Sonatrach and Bosch will study cooperation plans for developing green hydrogen in Algeria, specifically including electrolyzer manufacturing and hydrogen production. This cooperation framework also involves the exchange of technologies and expertise related to green hydrogen between the two parties. As a global technology service provider, Bosch covers the entire value chain in the green hydrogen sector.
This MoU is part of the deepening cooperation between Algeria and Germany in the field of energy transition. Under the same framework, Sonatrach also signed another MoU with Siemens Energy, covering areas such as equipment maintenance, training, and green hydrogen. Sonatrach stated that the MoU signed with Bosch provides a technical cooperation channel for Algeria's development in the green hydrogen sector, helping to diversify the country's energy structure.
