High and Intermediate Pressure Cylinders of Unit 6 at China Huaneng Haimen Power Plant Hoisted into Place

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 18, the high-pressure and intermediate-pressure cylinders of the steam turbine for Unit 6 of the Phase II project at Huaneng Haimen Power Plant were hoisted into place.

The high and intermediate pressure cylinders were manufactured by Dongfang Turbine Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Dongfang Electric Corporation. The high-pressure cylinder module has a net weight of 220 tons, with hoisting dimensions of 6030×3346×4623 mm; the intermediate-pressure cylinder module has a net weight of 310 tons, with hoisting dimensions of 7572×4110×4609 mm. Both cylinders are positioned between axes A and B, rows 13-15, at the 15.5-meter level of the main powerhouse. The components feature large external dimensions, a high center of gravity, and stringent alignment requirements for placement.

To this end, the project team developed a specialized hoisting plan, utilizing two 180/35-ton cranes in coordination with a 500-ton spreader beam. Prior to hoisting, all personnel involved received safety and technical briefings, and comprehensive inspections and acceptance checks were conducted on the hoisting cranes, braking system, slings, and the working environment. During the hoisting operation, project leaders supervised on-site, safety and quality management personnel provided full-time oversight, and professionals from various disciplines worked in close coordination, strictly adhering to the established plan. The hoisting commands were precise and clear, the lifting of the intermediate and high-pressure cylinders was smooth and orderly, and the construction tasks were completed as scheduled, with all technical indicators meeting design and specification requirements.
