Navantia UK Delivers Three Subsea Structures for Trinidad Project to McDermott

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Navantia UK has delivered subsea structures to McDermott International, which have been installed offshore Trinidad and Tobago. Under a contract announced in early 2025, the deliverables include a Pipeline End Termination (PLET) and two Adjustable Pipeline Supports (APS).

These structures are part of the subsea infrastructure delivered by McDermott for a "major" gas field development project.

All three structures were manufactured, assembled, and underwent system integration testing in Arnish, Scotland. They were then shipped from the nearby port of Stornoway, crossing the Atlantic to the installation site approximately 100 kilometers off the east coast of Trinidad and Tobago.

The function of the Pipeline End Termination is to provide a termination and connection point at the end of the subsea pipeline, enabling it to connect to the broader field infrastructure. The Adjustable Pipeline Supports provide support as the pipeline approaches the termination structure, with adjustable height to compensate for seabed undulations, ensuring precise alignment for connection.

This project is one of the largest gas development projects in Trinidad and Tobago in recent years. Production is transported via a 32-inch pipeline to shore for processing, after which it supplies the domestic market.

Navantia UK acquired the Arnish facility when it completed the acquisition of Harland & Wolff in January 2025.
