Waratah Minerals' 80,000m Drilling Intersects Shallow High-Grade Gold at Spur Zone

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Waratah Minerals (ASX:WTM) has confirmed that near-surface gold mineralization at the Spur Zone is continuous and of significant scale, with the mineralized system remaining open along strike and at depth. These results come from 13 holes of an ongoing 80,000-meter growth and step-out drilling program.

Key intersections occur within 60 meters of surface, with most results distributed between 60 and 100 meters depth. Multiple holes intercepted high-grade shoots over a 300-meter strike length, with the system extending continuously down-dip to 350 meters. The combined drill footprint now defines an area of 550 meters by 800 meters, with the mineralized envelope remaining open along strike and at depth. Waratah Minerals Managing Director Peter Duerden stated that these results align with expectations for consistent, shallow high-grade gold at the Spur Zone, with intersection locations and thicknesses improving the project's potential future economics and reducing risk in the shallow portion of this large gold system.

Highlight results include hole SPD067, which connected high-grade mineralization over a 350-meter strike along the Tywi Fault. This hole intersected 18 meters at 1.12 g/t gold from 61 meters depth; 3 meters at 9.81 g/t from 142 meters; and 11 meters at 3.04 g/t from 154 meters. Additionally, a deeper mineralized zone was intersected at 252 meters, returning 79 meters at 1.00 g/t gold. Another key hole, SPD071, designed to connect the Spur and Spur East zones, intersected 38.3 meters at 1.09 g/t gold from 59.4 meters depth, and 84 meters at 0.69 g/t from 150 meters. Hole SPD078, located 125 meters northwest of the Spur Zone, opened a new shallow mineralized area, intersecting 52 meters at 0.84 g/t gold from 84 meters depth, including 41.6 meters at 1.03 g/t gold from 91.4 meters, and a 1-meter interval grading 13.48 g/t gold.

Duerden noted that the combination of grade, shallow depth, and continuity at the Spur Zone provides a pathway to advance infill drilling and deliver an initial Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE). The company plans to accelerate expansion drilling eastward toward the Essex Fault to test the potential connection between the Spur Zone and the Consols gold zone, while also targeting extensions west of the current mineralized footprint.
