en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has signed a letter of intent with JetZero to order an undisclosed number of Z4 aircraft, securing priority delivery positions in the early 2030s to support its expanding network of European and Asian routes.

As part of its fleet modernization and network expansion strategy, Gulf Air is investing in next-generation aircraft technology to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and passenger experience on long-haul operations. JetZero's Z4 offers airlines a mid-market solution with a capacity of 250 passengers and a range of up to 5,000 nautical miles. Compared to tube-and-wing aircraft currently serving these routes, the Z4 reduces fuel consumption by up to 50%. The Z4 is equipped with wider boarding doors, direct access to six interior cabins, and dedicated overhead bin space for each seat.

Gulf Air CEO Martin Gauss stated that the company shares JetZero's vision for a more sustainable and efficient aviation future and is pleased to be among the first airlines to put this aircraft into service. JetZero CEO and co-founder Tom O'Leary said the Z4 offers airlines the option to expand route networks at a lower cost per seat mile, while also providing an upgraded passenger experience.

JetZero broke ground on an 8-million-square-foot manufacturing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina, in June 2026. The initial Z4 production units will be used for testing and certification, with entry into service expected in the early 2030s.
