en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gateway Mining (ASX:GML) has extended the continuous high-grade gold mineralization strike at the Cowza prospect within the Yandal Gold Project in Western Australia to 2.5 kilometers.

The company's latest round of aircore drilling returned continuous intercepts on every drill line. Notable intercepts include: hole CZAC071 intersected 27 meters at 1.4 grams per tonne gold from 84 meters depth; hole CZAC069 intersected 16 meters at 1.9 grams per tonne gold from 88 meters depth.

Hole CZAC071 returned 3.3 grams per tonne gold in the final one-meter sample, with the intercept still within the shear zone at the bottom of the hole.

This drilling has extended the strike length from the initial 800 meters announced in June to approximately 2.5 kilometers of continuous gold mineralization, occurring along the mafic-intermediate volcanic contact zone.

CEO Richard Pugh stated that this 2.5-kilometer strike lies within a broader 4.5-kilometer zone of strong demagnetization and structural complexity. Drilling on the remaining portion of the strike has encountered the same continuous shearing, veining, and alteration seen in holes that returned gold mineralization. The hydrothermal fluids that demagnetized the rocks are believed to be the same fluids that deposited the gold, indicating that Cowza is developing into a significant high-grade gold system.

Mineralization is structurally controlled by a major regional shear zone, located at the contact between intermediate and mafic volcanic sequences.

Meanwhile, two key structural targets are emerging: the main shear zone (CZAC071) and the footwall target (CZAC069).

Other drilling results include: hole CZAC051 intersected 16 meters at 1.3 grams per tonne gold from 68 meters depth; hole CZAC070 intersected 8 meters at 2.2 grams per tonne gold from 76 meters depth; hole CZAC066 intersected 5 meters at 2.8 grams per tonne gold from 148 meters depth.

Drilling extending a further 2 kilometers to the north is ongoing, with similar shearing, veining, and alteration observed, and assay results pending. A second reverse circulation drill rig is expected to arrive on site this weekend.
