en.Wedoany.com Reported - A comprehensive contract valued at approximately $250 million has been awarded to Finning to supply Caterpillar mining equipment, maintenance services, and digital solutions for the restart of the Albrera project in Argentina. The contract covers equipment delivery, maintenance, operational support, and digital technology integration, aimed at supporting the project's gradual production ramp-up.

Under the terms of the contract, Finning will deliver 22 new Caterpillar machines and cover a fleet maintenance agreement for a total of 51 machines, including 29 units already operating on site. The new deliveries include 22 Cat 793 mining trucks, three Cat 6060 FS hydraulic shovels (with a bucket capacity of 34 cubic meters), as well as auxiliary equipment such as a Cat D11 bulldozer, a Cat 777 water truck, and a Cat 336 excavator. The Cat 793 trucks, with a payload range of 220 to 240 tons, will be used for material haulage, while the Cat 6060 FS hydraulic shovels will handle loading operations.

Equipment delivery is scheduled in phases between 2026 and 2028. In addition to supplying the fleet, the agreement includes transportation, on-site assembly (Ready To Work), commissioning, and round-the-clock maintenance services over the five-year contract period. The solution also integrates the MineStar Fleet digital solution for real-time monitoring, fleet management, and operational productivity optimization.

According to Finning, the contract will create over 180 jobs dedicated to maintenance and operational support activities. The company stated that it will prioritize local recruitment and capacity building. Germán Wilson, Vice President of Operations and Country Manager for Finning Argentina, noted that the contract represents a significant milestone due to its scale and complexity, combining equipment supply, maintenance services, and digital technology into a single value proposition, with a focus on ensuring fleet availability and long-term operational performance.
