en.Wedoany.com Reported - Four Nines Gold (CSE:FNAU) has initiated its first drilling program at the Hayden Hill Gold Project in California.
LSG Drilling is mobilizing to the site and has begun drilling the initial holes in a program comprising 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) of core drilling.
The drilling will test multiple structural corridors and deeper vein extensions identified by the company through 3D geological modeling.
Historical drilling at Hayden Hill averaged only 150 meters in depth and did not target the vein system now known to control the gold mineralization.
CEO Charles Ross stated that the team spent months refining the geological model, securing drill pad permits, and preparing the program, and now the rig is turning, targeting areas that have never been tested.
The program aims to test converging veins approximately 200 meters below the historical mining zone.
Hayden Hill previously produced 480,000 ounces of gold and 1.3 million ounces of silver, and has not been drilled in nearly three decades.
FNAU has the right to acquire a 100% interest in the project from a subsidiary of Kinross Gold. Amax Gold previously explored Hayden Hill through 742 drill holes totaling 99,862 meters before the mine closed in 1997.
Kinross acquired Amax Gold in 1998 and has not conducted systematic exploration since the mine closure.
The project is located on private land in Lassen County, and permits for the initial drilling program have been approved by county authorities. Four Nines has 10 approved drill locations, and the first drilling program is fully funded.
Four Nines Gold is a U.S.-focused gold exploration company advancing the Hayden Hill project in California, with a fully funded initial drilling program targeting high-grade vein extensions below the historical mining zone.
