en.Wedoany.com Reported - Canadian mining company Avino Silver & Gold Mines reported its Q2 2026 operational results, with consolidated production reaching 534,945 ounces of silver equivalent, including a 59% sequential increase in silver production from the La Preciosa mine.

Avino Silver & Gold Mines achieves 59% increase in silver production at La Preciosa

During the quarter, the company mined and processed 267,305 ounces of silver, 2,178 ounces of gold, and 729,929 pounds of copper. Although lower copper grades from historical mining areas at the Avino mine led to an adjusted year-over-year silver equivalent production, this impact was offset by accelerated operations at the La Preciosa project.

Avino Chairman and CEO David Wolfin stated that the mill's Circuit 2 is operating well, with throughput exceeding expectations, processing a total of 184,293 dry metric tonnes of development ore. The company capitalized on high metal prices by processing lower-grade, readily accessible surface mineralized material, thereby preserving major underground reserves.

La Preciosa contributed 100,658 ounces of silver equivalent in the quarter, of which 84,806 ounces were pure silver. Preparation work at the Abundancia and Gloria levels is progressing well, and long-hole mining will soon commence to deliver higher-grade ore to the mill.

Under the 2026 exploration program, 6,591 meters of drilling have been completed at La Preciosa, against an annual target of 15,000 meters, with work advancing toward targets beyond the current resource model to identify new vein extensions.

Following the company's recently updated proven and probable reserve estimate, reserves stand at 127 million ounces of silver equivalent (27 million tonnes), laying the foundation for a growth platform in the country for the second half of the year.
