Australia's Aurelia Metals Exceeds FY26 Gold Production Guidance at 50.4 Koz
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Aurelia Metals achieved gold production of 50.4 thousand ounces (koz) in the 2025-26 fiscal year (FY26), surpassing the upper end of its previously revised guidance range of 45 to 50 koz. This result was driven by a strong performance in the June quarter, which recorded the highest operating cash flow since 2018.

In base metals, the company's copper production totaled 2.5 thousand tonnes (kt), while zinc and lead production reached 28.3 kt and 17.8 kt respectively, all within guidance ranges. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Bryan Quinn stated that the June quarter provided a strong finish to the fiscal year, with group gold production exceeding the revised guidance upper limit, and base metal production, operating costs, and capital expenditure all meeting expectations.
The company's financial position improved, with cash on hand increasing from $94.7 million at the end of the March quarter to $143.9 million. This was primarily driven by $53.1 million in operating cash flow from the Cobar operation in New South Wales. Additionally, Aurelia completed a new $150 million senior secured financing facility with Citi, Credeq, and HSBC during the quarter, releasing $45.2 million in restricted cash and further enhancing liquidity.
On the operational front, the June quarter saw a record processing throughput of 230,000 tonnes at the Peak operation, with mining volumes at the Federation mine increasing to 112,000 tonnes, and grades for gold, zinc, and lead all improving. Ore stockpiles reached a record 104,000 tonnes, laying the foundation for the company to increase production in FY27 as expansion projects come online. The Peak concentrator expansion plan remains on track, increasing annual processing capacity from 800,000 tonnes to between 1.1 and 1.2 million tonnes. A new tailings thickener was commissioned this quarter, and the tertiary ball mill is expected to be installed in the first quarter of FY27.
This quarter marks Quinn's final performance report before stepping down on July 24. Chief Financial Officer Martin Cummings will serve as interim CEO while the company searches for a permanent successor. Quinn noted that during his tenure, the company consolidated its asset base, built a high-performing team, established a robust balance sheet, and defined a clear path to achieving its production growth strategy.
