en.Wedoany.com Reported - South Korea's Rebellion has successfully operated SK Telecom's independent Artificial Intelligence (AI) foundation model 'A.X K1 (K1)' on its proprietary AI server 'RebelServer', and based on this, implemented an AI agent service supporting simultaneous access by multiple users, verifying the operational feasibility of large-scale AI services combining domestic large-scale AI models with Neural Processing Units (NPUs).

Rebellion announced on the 23rd that this demonstration ran the K1 model with over 500 billion (500B) parameters on the RebelServer. The company stated that it achieves AI inference performance comparable to global high-performance Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) server levels with a single server configuration, thereby enhancing efficiency in data center construction and operation.
The two parties achieved performance improvements by combining K1's Mixture of Experts (MoE) structure with Rebellion's software optimization technology. Rebellion applied a technology that efficiently distributes multiple computations to semiconductor chips, enabling a single server to handle requests from multiple users without bottlenecks. In the demonstration session, the functionality of a 'Map-type AI agent' was showcased: when multiple users simultaneously accessed and input different questions such as 'pharmacies available on weekends', K1 generated real-time answers and displayed the results on the map. Rebellion believes this confirms the stable operation of multi-user AI services using only domestic AI models and domestic NPUs.
Rebellion CEO Park Sung-hyun stated that this demonstration is a sovereign AI case where large-scale AI services can be operated using only domestic large-scale models and domestic NPUs, while also proving the efficiency and practical usability of the infrastructure. It is reported that Rebellion, as a member of the SK Telecom consortium in the Ministry of Science and ICT's independent AI foundation model project, is verifying AI infrastructure based on domestic NPUs. The company also plans to promote the adoption of domestic AI infrastructure based on its experience operating real-time AI services such as 'A. Phone Call Summary'.
