en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, the Haiyang Nuclear Power Project, constructed by China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd., reported another success: the final weld of the surge line for Unit 4 passed ultrasonic testing (UT). Thus, all welds of the main pipes and surge lines in the nuclear islands of Haiyang Units 3 and 4 achieved a 100% pass rate in all stages of nondestructive testing (visual, penetrant, radiographic, and ultrasonic) at the first attempt. The successful completion of this critical core pipeline testing highlights the project's excellent engineering quality and full-process control capabilities, laying a solid quality foundation for subsequent unit commissioning and operation.

Both the main pipes and surge lines are nuclear-grade Class 1 pipeline equipment in the nuclear island, with consistent requirements for welding processes, welding methods, and welder qualifications. Therefore, technical preparations for both tasks must proceed simultaneously. The project adheres to the principle of "doing things right the first time" and upholds Party-building leadership to tackle project challenges. A Party member assault team was established to address key difficulties in main pipe and surge line construction, with core members overseeing each process. Additionally, a "Main Pipe Installation Assault Team" was formed, supported by a team of skilled experts providing technical support to break through process bottlenecks, unify construction standards, and create welding benchmarks, thereby driving overall quality improvement through model guidance. In talent development, the project leverages a training platform to utilize the mentoring role of gold-medal welders, combining theory, simulation, on-the-job training, and hands-on practice to continuously supply highly skilled welding talent for nuclear power construction.

Going forward, China Nuclear Industry Fifth Construction Co., Ltd. will continue to uphold Party-building leadership, strictly adhere to nuclear safety bottom lines, deepen full-process quality control, steadily advance project construction, and strive to create a high-quality nuclear power project, contributing to national energy security and the "dual carbon" strategy.
