en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 22, Huang Sanwen, President of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), met with Florin Stănică, President of the Romanian Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences and Romanian Director of the China-Romania Agricultural Cooperation "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory (in preparation). Both sides exchanged views on deepening agricultural science and technology cooperation between China and Romania.

The meeting noted that Romania is an important partner in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. In recent years, CAAS and the Romanian Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences have carried out practical cooperation in areas such as joint laboratory construction, agricultural science and technology demonstration, and technology extension. It was suggested that the China-Romania Agricultural Cooperation "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory (in preparation) serve as a key platform to further strengthen joint research in facility agriculture, green and sustainable agriculture, crop breeding, and efficient cultivation of edible fungi, and to promote the application of agricultural science and technology achievements in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe.

Stănică highly commended CAAS's achievements in agricultural science and technology innovation and international cooperation, expressing willingness to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with CAAS. He proposed leveraging the joint laboratory to expand joint research and technology demonstration in areas such as germplasm resource exchange, genomics, and post-harvest processing, aiming to achieve more tangible results.

Relevant officials from the Department of International Cooperation and the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development in Agriculture attended the meeting.
