en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd. issued an announcement stating that it will invest in the construction of eight 60,000-DWT multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels at Chengxi Shipyard Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited. The total contract price shall not exceed RMB 2.624 billion, with vessels expected to be delivered and put into operation successively from April 2029 to June 2030.

This construction project will be implemented by the company's wholly-owned subsidiary, COSCOL (Hong Kong) Investment Development Co., Ltd., or its affiliated companies as the investment entity.
The announcement states that this transaction will help COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers further optimize its capacity structure, expand its business scale in relevant niche markets, enhance its specialized service capabilities and brand recognition, consolidate and strengthen its competitive position in the industry, and improve overall profitability and shareholder returns, aligning with the company's medium- to long-term strategic development direction.
